Live Plant Rentals
Plants are a wonderful way to add beauty and texture to your decor. Bringing nature to your event can be welcoming to your guests. We offer multiple sizes and varieties to meet your aesthetic.
What are your rental rates?
Items are priced individually, giving you the opportunity to mix and match your favorite plants! Please contact us for specific pricing information.
How do I reserve my plants?
Once you have secured your event date and venue, contact us with that information along with the plants you are interested in! Alternatively, we would love to meet with you in person and discuss your event in detail!
Once we receive your request and questionnaire, we will provide a quote for your review, and an invoice upon approval. We require a non-refundable $100 deposit along with a signed rental agreement and credit card on file in order to reserve rental items for your event. The balance is due 30 days prior to the event date.
When should I reserve my items?
We recommend reserving items at least 4 months in advance. Last minute reservations, or those requested within 30 days of an event must be paid in full.
Am I allowed to change my order after it is placed?
You are more than welcome to change your order prior to your event with plants/containers of equal or greater value providing they are available.
How long is the rental period?
The rental period for any of our plants is up to 48 hours. Plants left overnight must be indoors.
Plants can be rented for longer periods, provided they are not reserved for another event. Let us know what you need and we will try to accommodate.
What’s your cancellation policy?
We understand things come up making you unable to follow through with your rental contract. We honor full refunds (excluding non-refundable deposit) of the final payment if you decide to cancel at least 60 days before your event. If within 60-30 days, we retain 50% of the final payment amount. If 29 days until the event, we retain the full amount.
How much is delivery?
Delivery costs vary and depend on the size of the order, location, delivery/pick up times, and any additional services required. We specialize in the Rochester, NY area, but may be able to accommodate further distances as well.
Delivery fees begin at $50, and we are happy to provide a delivery quote for orders over $200. Orders are delivered to a designated area of the venue determined prior to delivery, and picked up in the same location (unless set up/take down is requested).
What happens if a plant is damaged or lost?
We understand that accidents happen. Upon signing a contract, The Botanist will require both a valid credit card and driver's license to keep on file. In the event that a plant is damaged beyond rehabilitation or is missing, we charge a replacement fee which is typically 3-5 times the rental rate, but varies depending on the plant. If a plant is returned slightly damaged but can be rehabilitated, the credit card on file will only be charged the cost that The Botanist incurred to rehab it. An invoice will be sent to you in advance, and payment can either be processed through your credit card on file or another form of payment.
If you haven’t scheduled your consultation yet, now is the time to do so. During your consultation we will answer all of your plant decor questions, discuss your wedding day vision, and help you stretch your budget to ensure that you have the greenery you’ve been dreaming about. If you have no idea what plants you want for your wedding—don’t worry, we can help you with that as well! If you decide to have The Botanist provide any or all of the plant rental services for your wedding a $100 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your wedding date. The remaining balance is due no later than 30 days prior to the delivery date. We look forward to designing your wedding greenery and taking part in your special day.
